چکیده

conclusions it can be concluded that due to some bioactive and nutrient factors, mscs secretions could be used for recovery of oa as well as prevention of articular cartilage matrix degeneration, using a high dose of cell secretions. results the results revealed a decrease of proteoglycan content in the superficial and intermediate zones and presence of surface fibrillation. therefore, oa induced matrix degeneration, and the reparative effects of mscs were higher than cell secretions. materials and methods to achieve this aim articular cartilages of rat knees were cured by monosodium iodoacetate (1 mg/50 µl). mesenchymal stem cells (mscs) were cultured and injected into the knee joint of rats after two weeks. the left knee was kept as the control group and injected with either sterill saline. the animals were sacrificed at two weeks after transplantation. the knee joints were harvested and safranin-o and toluidine-blue microscopic analysis were performed. in order to assess changes, the amount of control and experimental cartilage extracellular matrix structure (proteoglycan) and cartilage fibrillation were determined by using histological approaches. objectives the purpose of this study was to understand the regeneration effect of mesenchymal stem cells as well as secretions of these cells after induction of early-stage osteoarthritis (oa). background osteoarthritis (oa) is a degenerative disease, which is characterized pathologically by degeneration of articular cartilage. one of the mechanisms of cartilage lesion in oa is decreased synthesis of cartilage matrix and amongst the variety of treatment methods for oa, cell base therapies has a crucial role.

In vivo effects of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in a rat model of acute ischemic kidney injury

Objective(s): Renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) as a severe condition of acute kidney injury (AKI) is the most common clinical problem with high mortality rates of 35-60% deaths in hospital. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) due to unique regenerative characteristics are ideal candidates for the treatment of the ischemic injuries. This work is focused on the administration of MSC to IRI-induce...

Mesenchymal stem cells that located in the electromagnetic fields improves rat model of Parkinson's disease

Objective(s): The main characteristic of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is their ability to produce other cell types. Electromagnetic field (EMF) stimulates differentiation of MSCs into other cells. In this study, we investigated whether EMF can effect on the differentiation of MSCs into dopaminergic (DA) neurons. Materials and Methods: An EMF with a frequency of 50 Hz and two intensities of 40 ...

The Effect of Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Aqueous Extract of Elaeagnus Angustifolia on the Mechanical Properties of Articular Cartilage in an Experimental Model of Rat Osteoarthritis

Introduction: Although, the effect of direct intra-articular injection of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) on the repair of articular cartilage and the effect of Elaeagnus angustifolia extract on pain relief in patients with osteoarthritis have been investigated, no studies has been conducted to compare the effects of these two therapeutic methods on the mechanical properties of articular cartila...

Effects of insulin-like growth factor-induced Wharton jelly mesenchymal stem cells toward chondrogenesis in an osteoarthritis model

Objective(s): This study aimed to determine the collagen type II (COL2) and SOX9 expression in interleukin growth factor (IGF-1)-induced Wharton’s Jelly mesenchymal stem cells (WJMSCs) and the level of chondrogenic markers in co-culture IGF1-WJMSCs and IL1β-CHON002 as osteoarthritis (OA) cells model. Materials and Methods: WJMSCs were induced with IGF1 (75, 150, and 300 ng/ml) to enhance their ...

Osteogenic Differentiation of Rat Mesenchymal Stem Cells from Adipose Tissue in Comparison with Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells: Melatonin As a Differentiation Factor

Background: Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) could be an appealing alternative to bone marrow stem cells (BMSC) for engineering cell-based osteoinductive grafts. Meanwhile, prior studies have demonstrated that melatonin can stimulate osteogenic differentiation. Therefore, we assayed and compared the melatonin effect on osteogenic differentiation of BMSC with that of ADSC. Methods: Mesenchymal...

Effect of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells Transplantation on Nerve Fibers of A Rat Model of Endometriosis

Background Endometriosis is a common, benign, oestrogen-dependent, chronic gynaecological disorder associated with pelvic pain and infertility. Some researchers have identified nerve fibers in endometriotic lesions in women with endometriosis. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have attracted interest for their possible use for both cell and gene therapies because of their capacity for self-renewal ...
